Instructions for writing an Amsco response
For more information on writing essays see pages xix-xxviii and pages 16-17 in your AMSCO book. Your answer should include the following parts: · A thesis statement: a full sentence that clearly states your main argument and directly responds to the essay question. · Topic sentences: a full sentence for each body paragraph that clearly states the argument for that paragraph. · Supporting evidence: three to six phrases or facts that support the topic sentence of each body paragraph. (These would be bold face words in a regular history book. People, events, places, etc.) · For this exercise, no conclusion is necessary. I am not giving you a number of words or specific length. However, I expect the question to be answered as completely as possible. This is practice for the real thing so make the most of it!!
